Nicholas Williams

Master Trainer and Founder

Nicholas' passion for animals began at a young age and when he graduated from high school he attended the University of Tennessee- Knoxville with the intent of becoming a Veterinarian. Nicholas graduated from UT-Knoxville with a degree in Biology, Chemistry minor.

Nicholas always had a dog in his life, except when he met Joy so after they married they decided it was time to welcome a new dog into their family and they began their search!  It didn't take them long to find Billy and when Nicholas met Billy for the first time, he said "Billy picked me". Billy proved to be a lot of work and with the help of their neighbor, who was a dog trainer as well, they were able to understand Billy more and be his leader.  At the same time, Nicholas was working with and around a lot of rescue dogs/fosters and with a gentle nudge from his wife, he decided to make a big change and go off to training to become a dog trainer himself.  He took his boy Billy with him and when they both came home they were ready to hit the ground running to launch Get It Done Dog Training in San Diego, CA.

Nicholas finally fulfilled his dreams of working with dogs and loves that he can teach his clients the skills they need to build a strong relationship with their dogs, based on mutual trust and mutual respect.

Joy Williams

Co-Founder and Account Manager

Joy has had a passion for animals since childhood and when she got her first dog as an adult she strived to get her Pomeranian Hailey well trained. She trained her so well that when she had to move to New York for a job her mother took Hailey in and didn't want to give her up!

When Joy and Nicholas married and wanted to expand their furry family they looked into adopting a Pit Bull type dog, that's when they met Billy! Billy at two years of age came with all the affection in the world, but he also came with Separation Anxiety like they had never seen before! One fateful day Billy jumped out of the car and ran across the road and Joy and Nicholas watched in horror as he almost got hit by a car! It was at that same moment when they met their neighbor, who just happened to be a dog trainer! After some time and influence, Joy convinced Nicholas to go to training himself to become a dog trainer (with Billy in tow). After completion of the program they sat down and designed Get It Done Dog Training so they could teach other dog owners/lovers how to be effective leaders of their own pack!

Joy is an Ambassador for dog bite prevention and education for dog body language. Joy truly believes that education is key to lowering the incidence of dog bites, especially with children. She has spoken to Cub Scout troops on the subject and is happy to share her wisdom with clients and their children.
